Acadiana Therapy Dogs
Acadiana Animal Aid’s Education Program utilizes a Therapy dog to visit second-grade students in Lafayette parish schools, community centers, YMCAs, libraries, and children’s clubs. Our service dogs are trained, captivated listeners, and their affection and attention can help children learning to read to develop more self-confidence in their reading skills and enhance their overall reading abilities. During these visits, Children read to the dog, are provided with educational material and a small stuffed animal that they can read to at home and help them develop a passion for reading and animals. Please help us keep this program going so more Acadiana children can benefit from this wonderful opportunity.
